President's MessageJanuary 21, 2012
Hello from the swamped (as in too much rain) in Glenwood. Lake Graystone has appeared once again after being missing much of the fall and winter. Waterfront lots are now available, and the price is right!
On to the more serious, if you are interested in getting your ISM CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or the new CSM (Certified in Supply Management) credentials, a study group is forming soon. NAPM-Willamette Valley owns some of the study material needed to take the exams, and will be investing in additional material as needed by our members. If you our interested in this study group, contact Andre Moran, at andremor@uoregon.edu. Don’t forget to put “Go Ducks!” in your email to him.
February is almost here and Dinner meetings start again on the 7th at 5:30 pm. Greg Hutchins of Quality Plus Engineering speaking on “Just in Case – Not Just in Time Revisited”. I know Inventory Control has become a much bigger focus for me, and I think Greg will give us all some good info on how to do it better. March 13 has Rick Pay on negotiating, and April is looking like a joint meeting in Albany with the president of Tec Labs. You can check out napm-willamettevalley.org for details.
Finally, if there’s anything we can help you with, please contact one of your board members. We really want to help you succeed in this profession.
Sincerely,
Jim Stroda
