January Meeting
January 13, 2009 Dinner Meeting- Public vs. Private Purchasing Discussion
Facilitator: Jim Stroda, Willamette Graystone
Come join us January 13th, when the star of the show, will be…..you! Yes, you, you public purchasing person, and you also, from the private side. How are your jobs different, how are they the same, and what do you mean you have to do that in order to issue a po? Plan on having a lively interaction with the whole group as we explore the differences in our jobs. Jim will be asking questions about each side’s work, and comparing the two. So if you ever wanted to find out about the other side of purchasing, January 13th will be the night. And bring someone that’s not a member of NAPM to join in the discussion.
Jim Stroda has worked for Willamette Graystone 12 years, the last 6 as the purchasing manager. Willamette Graystone manufactures concrete block, pavers, and septic tanks at 4 locations in Oregon, and sells these and other related masonry material through 8 locations plus dealers throughout the northwest. He purchases and arranges the transportation of all products that Willamette Graystone doesn’t make. Jim is a southern Willamette Valley native, has a BS from University of Oregon in Management and Marketing, and a member of ISM/NAPM Willamette Valley for 5 years.

Meetings begin at 5:30pm, Dinner at 6:00pm, program begins @ 6:45pm and end at 8:00pm.
