Membership

Who is eligible to join NAPM-Willamette Valley, Inc.?

Membership is open to anyone involved in the purchasing or materials process including:

• Purchasing
• Purchasing Research
• Value Analysis
• Inventory Control
• Materials Management
• Supply Chain Management
• Any other activity or function related to the purchasing or materials process

The following individuals are also eligible:

• Full-time teachers, research specialists, department heads, directors or deans of colleges and/or universities, or other academic institution whose academic responsibility includes purchasing management, materials management, or other related fields.
• Full-time undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in an accredited college or university.
• Consultants in the purchasing management or materials management fields on the condition that such person does not solicit members of an affiliate for consulting engagements.
• Editors, secretaries, or business managers employed by an affiliate

Diverse Membership:

In principle and practice, NAPM-Willamette Valley values and seeks a diverse membership and volunteer leadership.  There are no barriers to full participation in NAPM-Willamette Valley on the basis of ethnic background, gender, creed, age, sexual orientation, national origin, or disability.

Full Membership in NAPM-Willamette Valley entitles you to:

• Purchasing Today is published exclusively for members monthly and contains articles, case studies, and information that can be readily applied on the job.
• ISM InfoEdge delivers a unique, clean, concise, how-to approach on a single supply management topic each issue.
• The Manufacturing and Non-Manufacturing ISM Report on business is published monthly in Purchasing Today.  This report can be used to forecast economic changes that affect your organization and bottom-lines.
• The ISM Member Gateway is an exclusive members-only section of ISM's website which provides valuable access to research tools, nationwide employment opportunities, professional forums, and in-depth database searches.
• Educational discounts on the more than 100 annual seminars presented by ISM and NAPM-Willamette Valley
• Tuition discounts towards credit and non-credit online courses offered by ISM.
• Discounts on educational resources.  ISM offers books, videos, self-study courses, and CD-ROM on the continuing education needs of purchasing professionals.  Our local affiliate also loans books, tapes, and CD's to its members.
• Certification.  ISM administers the Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) and Accredited Purchasing Practitioner (APP) programs.  Members receive discounts on examination fees, study materials, and application fees. 

For over 80 years, the ISM Annual International Purchasing Conference has offered those in the purchasing and supply management profession a forum devoted exclusively to the profession and its needs.

Associate & Student Membership includes membership in the local affiliate only.  Monthly mailing of affiliate newsletter.  (Does not receive discount on any national offered products or services)

Opportunities:

Membership in NAPM-Willamette Valley also offers opportunities to interact with fellow purchasing professionals during regular meetings and local educational programs.  full participation offers the chance to develop your leadership potential by gaining meeting facilitation expertise and cultivating your networking and communication skills.
